For the first time we have arranged a new format for the End of Season Sailex.  It will be shorter - just a long weekend (Friday 7th, Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th) and will be promoted as the "Bring a Friend"  Sailex.

Members will be given the option to travel down to the Solent and board the yacht on the afternoon / evening of Thursday 6th October and overnight on board to make an early start on Friday 7th.  This will allow three full days sailing.

Members have expressed a wish to have a shorter event so that you can encourage your non sailing friends to give it a try on a modern yacht in the sheltered waters of the Solent.

Booking has now started and Beneteau Oceanis 37 yachts have been chartered for the event with 5 on board each yacht.  Cost of this event is £195 to TOG members.

Support has been excellent this year and we are now fully booked.  Please make contact should you wish to put your name on the waiting list for a late place should a member have to withdraw.

LATEST (June 2016) - due to health issues a couple has been forced to withdraw from this event and accordingly a cabin berth has become available for a TOG member or friend a couple or single member.  The TOG booking page has been re-opened and members / friends are encouraged to make a booking directly or make contact with the Skipper Andy McWilliam (see contacts page) for additional information.

Following on from the very successful Croatia Sailex starting from Split in September 2015, 5 boats chartered, we are now planning another to Croatia in 2016 starting and finishing at Dubrovnik.   Take a look at the "PHOTOS" page on the Web Site to see a small selection of photographs from the 2015 sailex to Split.    We have an early reservation on two Bavaria 45 4 cabin two head yachts, and have chartered one 3 cabin two head yacht.  Reservations can not be held indefinitely or guaranteed as these are sold on a global basis they can not be held for us.    There is just one marina at Dubrovnik and less availability than Split.  Members interested in joining this Sailex in 2016 are asked to make an early booking for TOG to make a commitment with the charter companies.

LATEST - Better then anticipated demand has resulted in two boats being chartered for this event. This is the maximum number we can take from this charter cpmpany.

Sailing from Neyland offers access to a number of fine wild life and sailing areas. We plan to consider various options, all weather dependent, including visiting the Scilly Isles or South Coast of Ireland.    If the conditions and forecast are favourable to make for the Scilly Isles, we would hope to visit Padstow and Lundy Island.    If South coast of Ireland we would plan to visit Dunmore, Youghal and possibly Cork.  These options would involve long passages and night sailing is likely.

Starting from Lymington Marina we have planned a sailex to the Channel Islands.  Three modern Jeanneau 42i yachts with three cabins and two heads have been chartered for this event, and .  All yachts are now fully booked The yachts are well equipped for such an event and making a start from Lymington Marina we are well placed for the needles passage and the channel.

The aim of this trip will be to cross the Channel from Lymington to the Channel Islands and explore the area before returning to the Solent.   Possible  islands to visit include - Alderney, Guernsey, Sark, Jersey and Herm.    This expedition will give those aspiring to RYA Yachtmaster Practical Courses the possibility of qualifying passages.With strong tides, challenging navigation and exciting sailing, a trip to these beautiful islands is one not to be missed!Area like the “Alderney Race” and “The Swinge” offer opportunities for some of the fastest SOG you will experience on a Yacht.    This time we plan have larger Yachts, Jeanneau 42’s, for faster and more comfortable cruising, so with favourable weather Jersey is a realistic port of call.

A 10 day sail from Largs, North Ayrshire, Scotland, to circumnavigate the Isle Of Man with view to taking time to visit Peel, Port St Mary, Castletown and Douglas.    Returning to the Clyde via Strangford or Bangor in Northern Ireland.  This extended 10 day sailex will involve several long passages and a possible night sailing and thus will be attractive for those wishing to add this experience to their log.
